GitHub adds withdrawn‑alert detection to Dependabot webhooks and API

GitHub’s Dependabot now signals when alerts are withdrawn via a new webhook action and a 410 Gone API response.
GitHub has updated Dependabot to make withdrawn alerts easier to detect. The dependabot_alert webhook event now includes a withdrawn action. Its payload carries the alert number, GHSA and CVE IDs, the affected package, and the manifest path that were recorded before removal.
Repositories already subscribed to dependabot_alert events will automatically start receiving these withdrawn‑action deliveries. The REST API now returns HTTP 410 Gone for withdrawn alerts instead of 404 Not Found, letting callers tell a withdrawn alert from one that never existed. These changes are live for all github.com repositories and are included in GitHub Enterprise Server 3.24. Developers can now differentiate withdrawn alerts from those that never existed using the new status codes and webhook data.
